A creative, delicious vegetarian bistrot and bar in the center of the old part of the city. Honest and tasty organic Slow food cooked by great chefs.
Yes, vegetarian food is about health, ok, but who says healthy is boring? Veggie restaurants in Barcelona were all for the green, but completely forgot about pleasure. But not Rasoterra. Chiara Bombardi and Daniele Rossi, Slow Food authorities in the city have a long experience in the matter –they were also in charge of Sesamo, a very popular veggie restaurant– and have pulled off something amazing: meat-lovers also visit the restaurant and totally forget about their eating habits for a couple of hours. This magic is the result of a combination of elements: an amazing knowledge of the ingredients, which are mostly local and organic, creative touches, honesty, great value for money and a nice warm atmosphere. Gluten-free dishes are also available so that is one less thing to think about if this is one of your concerns.
They serve 3 dishes and a 10€ Special of the day menu, but starters and mains can be eaten separately, which will reduce the price even more. Beans, tomato and vegetable curry with basmati rice or a cocotte of organic eggs, potatoes, champignons and leeks are some of the options of the Special, but the dishes change every day. Ajoblanco (smoked almond and garlic cold soup typical from Andalusia) with strawberries and avocados or Empordà buffalo mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and rocket salad or Banh xeo –coconut pancake with smoked tofu, spicy carrot and mushrooms are some of the dishes on the dinner menu.
Great place to make peace with vegetarian restaurants and to simply enjoy great, healthy food.
